The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
The Q Revo is an excellent option if you're looking to buy a mid-range robot vacuum and mop. It's got a fantastic mopping capabilities, but is lacking some of the advanced features found in its more expensive counterpart.
During testing it was able to tackle dry oats and dust on carpets with medium piles and pet hair on hard floors. It doesn't employ LIDAR, however, like cheaper models do to locate your home.
1. Roomba S9+ from iRobot
The iRobot Roomba S9+ robot vacuum is among the best-rated robots. It offers impressive cleaning power and plenty of features, including an automatic dirt bin built into its charging base. This robot can recognize your cleaning habits, and suggest automatic schedules to provide you with an effortless cleaning experience.
The iRobot Home App guides you through the process of setting up. Once the system is in place you can begin the cleaning automatically with just one button click. You can opt for a general clean that prioritizes the removal of large debris such as cereal and rice, or opt for two thorough mappings of your home to ensure that your home gets a proper look.
This robot vac performs well on both floors that are bare and carpets with low pile. It is able to take large objects and doesn't lose suction as quickly as other models do and can remove pet hair without much difficulty. It has a difficult time with high-pile carpets or plush carpets, but iRobot promises that the next models will be better.
The S9+ features a new design from iRobot, which is focused on enhancing corner and edge cleaning. It's the very first Roomba that adopts a flat-fronted D-shaped design. The company hopes that this will allow it to be able to hug furniture and walls. It's an improvement over the hockey puck-shaped robovacs which are common, but we found it to be only marginally better than circular models.
iRobot also claims that the S9+ comes with an improved filter system that prevents microscopic dust particles and allergens from circulating within your home. We like the claim but not enough to justify a higher price.
Its smart navigation system uses sensors to store the structure of your home, and vSLAM for mapping the interior of your home. It can then clean your entire house efficiently by avoiding obstacles such as stairs and other obstacles. The iRobot Home App allows you to schedule cleaning times and set virtual boundaries so that the robot knows what areas require extra attention.
2. Roborock Q Revo
When it comes to robots that combine mopping and vacuuming, the Roborock Q Revo stands out. Its vacuum settings are as effective as those on higher-end models and its mopping system is even better. Its spinning pads do a better job of scrubbing your floors than a stationary vibration pad.
The only issue is that it does not have a second rubber brush to provide more thorough cleaning, but it's an affordable cost to pay if are looking for one of the top robots available. The dust tank on the robo-vac is larger than its competitors. Filling it up takes only two or three cycles, even when you've got the most dirt.
For the mopping system, I was amazed by its ability to scrub tough dirt off my floors. Its two lowest mopping modes, which are less aggressive than the high-powered ones, produce very little noise, which allows you to work or even watch TV without interruption. If it encounters an object, such as a wall or furniture piece it gently bumps into it before moving forward.
What really sets the Q Revo apart is that it's designed to operate almost completely autonomously, requiring only a little for human intervention. The dock of the robo-vac can be multi-functional and automatically transfers garbage into a bin hidden. It also washes, dries and refills the clean water tank. The app will only notify you if something is wrong for example, the water tank being empty or a vacuuming session that is cancelled due to an empty bin.
You can also combine or create actual rooms in order to alter the way Q Revo treats your home. This feature is useful for those who have different flooring in different areas of your home or in the event that you have to regularly clear out clutter such as toys, clothes and books. The robo-vac was also one of the top performers in my tests cleaning up debris from carpets as well as hardwood floors on the first attempt. It is able to even vacuum up wet spills, though I recommend cleaning them read more off using a clean cloth before bringing the robot into.
3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni has all of the features you'd expect from a premium robot vacuum and mop combo and more. It has a rotating mop and a powerful vacuum that can clean carpets as well as hard floors. It is similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+. It also comes with an auto-cleaning station that automatically washes and cleans mop pads to keep them fresh and ready for reuse. The biggest difference over the ECOVACS Deebot X1 is that this model is sleeker and more modern design, thanks to Danish firm Jacob Jensen Design (best known for Bang & Olufsen products). The robot is still big. It is more than two feet in both height and depth, and weighs in at least four pounds. However, the robot and its base are smaller than the Roborock Q Revo and iRobot j7.
This model is also more efficient than the X1 one, because it has faster battery charging and can handle a complete cleaning of approximately 1,500 square feet on one charge. And it has a larger, more durable dustbin to hold more debris, making it easier to empty when needed.
The X2 Omni also has a more natural voice assistant and an app that is functional even if you are not at home. It also comes with an intelligent routing feature that allows it to clean specific areas or rooms of your home instead of following a predetermined route.
The X2 Omni is the top robot at mopping. Its rotating mop pads clean tough stains and its motor produces a lot of downward pressure. Its vacuuming performance is outstanding as well, and it boosts suction when it detects carpet to ensure it does a thorough job. It is equipped with a large, rechargeable battery that lasts up to seven days. The mopping feature of the robot is also very effective.
4. Dreametech L10s Ultra
The Dreametech L10s Ultra is a top-quality mop and vacuum robot that comes with a variety of convenience features you don't often see on robots of this price. It can build detailed floor maps, detect different flooring types, and it's one of the few to automatically wash and dry the mop pads. These are nice features but they also push the L10s into the class of luxury. This could make it more expensive than what homeowners want.
The L10s Ultra looks like a modern floor cleaner. It's tall and slim, with a white finish that is complemented by silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine is dominated by a large bumper, which helps protect the vacuum and furniture from damage when moving through the house. In the pane in the front is additional navigation technology with sensors that help the L10s Ultra maneuver tight corners and avoid obstacles.
On the top of the vacuum, there is a single button that serves as an on/off switch. By pressing this button, you can activate the vacuum, and pressing it again will turn off the vacuum and send it back to its base station. The circular menu located in the middle of the control panel lets you to select cleaning modes, schedules and preferences. The left and right buttons beneath the screen will open up the settings menu in which you can alter how the L10s Ultra interacts with your home.
The L10s Ultra, like the iRobot Roomba S9+ or Roborock Q Revo uses a combination of LIDAR and cameras-based navigation technology to map out your home. This produces a precise floor plan that allows the robot vacuum and mop efficiently and avoid getting stuck in cluttered areas. The LIDAR helps the robot vacuum avoid obstacles and identify them, which is an excellent feature for homes with pets or children.
The L10s Ultra provides solid vacuuming performance, clearing 98.4% of debris from our test on the hard floor and taking out all but the most difficult juice stains. Its mops are also quite efficient, clearing 98.4 percent of debris from our tile, wood, and carpet tests. It wasn't as effective at removing sand from the hard flooring or quaker oats off the carpet.
